Why Certifications

Why should certifications and membership in professional organizations matter.

A Certification means that Unicad has gone to the effort to study and take tests that proves our understanding of a technology or technologies.

Membership in professional and business organizations means that Unicad has contact with other professionals and business leaders.  We are able to use these contacts to enhance our skills and services and better serve our customers.

NICET Certification

NICET Certification Logo

NICET (the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) is a not-for-profit organization created by the National Society of Professional Engineers to serve the certification needs of the engineering technology community.

Unicad is Level 3 certified in the area of Fire Alarm Systems.  This means that we have demonstrated our knowledge of fire alarm systems.  You can count on our expertise and knowledge of the fire codes.

NFPA Membership

The mission of the international nonprofit NFPA is to reduce the worldwide burden of fire and other hazards on the quality of life by providing and advocating consensus and education.

The world's leading advocate of fire prevention and an authoritative source on public safety, NFPA develops, publishes, and disseminates more than 300 consensus codes and standards intended to minimize the possibility and effects of fire and other risks.

UNICAD's membership is important as it allows us to prove and maintain our knowledge of Fire and Safety codesThis knowledge means, to our customers, that when we design a fire alarm system, it will be done correctly and most likely be approved by the local Fire Marshal, on the first submission.  This translates to a safer completed project and savings in time and money.
